On behalf of the Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara Board of Directors, I am pleased to congratulate Ven. Piyananda on the successful completion of homes built for victims of the tsunami in our homeland, Sri Lanka. Over one year has passed since the devastation and displaced families continue to struggle to put their lives back together. Providing these families with a roof over their heads and a place to call home is a valuable step forward in this rebuilding process.

We are grateful to those individuals who generously donated funds including the Hollywood Artists Alliance and countless others, who looked beyond color or race to help remedy this tragedy.

Since 1978, I have had the privilege of knowing Ven. Piyananda in our collaboration in the founding of the Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara in Los Angeles. Knowing his leadership abilities and persevering nature, I am confidant that he will continue to successfully assist victims of the 2004 Tsunami.
