I received a message from Venerable Walpola Piyananda couple of years ago regarding his intention of setting up an educational fund for lay people. In 2005, I requested that this fund be extended to help junior monks in their formal education. Ven. Piyananda has developed this fund further more. We were able to sponsor ten junior monks in their further education. We believe that unlike anything else, education and knowledge could not be bought or sold. It is very vital for daily life. Knowledge helps in the understanding and sharing with others.

My sincere wish is that this programme will become Dhammachakka, generation to generation.
