In December 2005, I attended the “Global Quest for Peace Conference” in Bali and fell in love with Indonesia.

A few days after returning to America , I was awakened with the devastating news that several areas of Indonesia were hit by the tsunami.

I knew I wanted to do something, but wasn’t sure where to begin.

As the Founder of the World Trust Foundation, we are dedicated to bridging cultures around the world. I knew there had to be a way that I could help.

The following day, I received an email from a dear friend, Camille Cellucci, who already knew Sri Lanka firsthand, as well as she was friends with Venerable Piyananda. She began the Hollywood Artist Alliance, and I instantly wanted to participate and help.

It has been such a blessing to bring assistance to this beautiful land. I have to say my highlight was visiting Sri Lanka during the ground-breaking ceremony, where the spirit of the people shined through their eyes and smiles….even in the face of disaster. I was truly touched.

I’m proud to be involved, along with our partners Airline Ambassadors, the numerous personal donations from those from Los Angeles, CA and Boulder, Colorado.

I look forward to the times when I visit in the future, to see the smiles on the faces of the children...as it is the beautiful spirit of Sri Lanka.
