Rev. Maitipe Wimalasara met with top Sri Lankan officials to discuss the Sri Lanka Tsunami Relief Fund and how the funds can be used for the long term rebuilding effort.

At the request of Rev. Mampe Wimalakirthi in the town of Galle, we sent $1000 for emergency relief.

January 2, 2005
Rev. Maitipe Wimalasara of the Dharma Vijaya Temple left for Sri Lanka with $2000 of initial funds. These funds were used for emergency relief efforts in Polhena, Matara (southern Sri Lanka). The aid included purchasing cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, and organizing cleanup events.

December 29, 2004
$1000 from the funds collected so far was sent to Sri Lanka for immediate relief efforts. A portion of these funds was used to purchase pots and pans for affected people in the town of Trincomalie located in northeastern Sri Lanka. Rest was used to purchase school supplies for children affected.
